When it comes to diamonds that make our jaws literally drop, and bold gold that glows against the skin, Single Stone is the design studio we think of first. Their incredible pieces—which combine mostly antique diamonds with old-world craftsmanship and modern style—are the kind you'll wear forever, sure to become cherished heirlooms.
We're excited, as always, to be bringing you a pre-holiday trunk show of their timeless designs, Friday, November 7th, and Saturday, November 8th, 202, and thought we'd share a peek into the minds behind the studio. Here's a bit from our chat with Ari and Corina:
Tell us a bit about your backstory and how Single Stone came to be.
Single Stone’s roots go back to the late 80s as a supplier of loose diamonds. Disenchanted with the modern diamond world, Ari developed a fascination with vintage jewelry and old-cut stones. After years spent restoring vintage jewelry and with Corina joining the team as a partner, the Single Stone collection was born.
Today, we continue to produce our collection in Los Angeles, following traditional jewelry-making techniques that feature vintage diamonds in our designs whenever possible and continuing our dedication to vintage-inspired, timeless jewelry.

How would you describe the Single Stone aesthetic? What makes it feel distinct?
Heirloom-worthy fine jewelry that incorporates the enchanting allure of vintage and vintage-inspired diamonds with a contemporary aesthetic.
What’s your design process like? Where do you start when creating a new piece?
Our design process always begins with the center stone. Because we work primarily with antique diamonds as our center stone, we build everything around that. Each new creation is essentially one-of-a-kind, as each jewelry piece is created from the dimensions of the stone we are working with. We let the stone guide our direction and recognize the individual personality of each, allowing it to shine in its final home.

What draws you to these antique diamonds and old-world techniques?
We love the individuality and sentimentality of vintage stones. Knowing that they were cut by hand over 100 years ago and meant to shine under the brilliance of candlelight is so inspiring and romantic. We treasure their role in the history of jewelry and are committed to repurposing them whenever possible.
Do you have a favorite diamond cut or era that you’re particularly obsessed with right now?
Corina: My favorite diamond is an elongated rose cut with a heavy crown angle that would sparkle with its warmer, glowy facets. Super soft and romantic!
Ari: I have always loved vintage elongated stones. I love the chunky facets of cushion cuts as well as the extremely rare vintage emerald cuts.

What's inspiring you lately—in or outside the studio?
We are inspired by timeless jewelry that evokes a client’s spirit and personality. Seeing our pieces curated in a personal manner and cherished brings us great satisfaction.
