Alissa and Leslie separately grew up collecting perfume in tiny boxes, fascinated by the jewel-like quality and transformative nature of their treasures. Introduced many years later while living abroad, their friendship flourished over a shared love of perfume. Alissa, trained by the famed classical perfumery school ISIPCA in Versailles, and Leslie, a designer, artist, and self-taught perfumer, founded Liis as a creative expression using scent as medium. Drawing on personal experiences, emotions, and perspectives as inspiration, each uniquely minimalist scent composition tells a story to be interpreted by the wearer.
